Members fo the Forum attended a celebration event to mark the centenary of the Representation of the People Act 1918.
Dr Margaret Ward told of the local women who struggled to have the right to vote.
Laure James a sports journalist with Sky Sports explained the We Play Strong campaign which aims to empower women ang girls through participation in football.
Caroline Criado-Perez OBE a writer, broadcaster and feminist campaigner was interviewed by Laure and told of her life and career.
Katrina Armstrong is a mechanical engineer, mother and the first female County Commissioner in the Scout movement.She told us about girls in the Scouts and the equal place they now have.
Members of the audience were asked to nominate their Sheroes to round off an inspirational evening.
