Baroness May Blood, MBE has been involved in community work for 40 years, the last 10 in a full-time capacity in the Greater Shankill area. She has been involved in the Greater Shankill Partnership. She is a board member of Argyle Business Centre and Chairperson of Impact Training. She was a Director of the Labour Relations Agency from 1995-2000 and Panel Member of the Industrial Panels from 1994-2000. Baroness Blood holds Honorary Doctorates from Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Ulster.
As Guest Speaker at the 30th Anniversary luncheon in October 2005, she is very much aware of the work done by Women’s Forum Northern Ireland.
She believes that women’s groups have a unique opportunity to make a major contribution to ensuring that the voices of women are heard in the search to find a lasting settlement and therefore to serve society in every way possible.
